Professionals views for cost cuttings .. do not hive off people

Looking at current recession period, various organisations are hiving off people,In my opinion one should explore all cost cutting measures,hiving off should the last option.
I am sharing this opinion with the professional of various cos. through linkedin answers.
1. Stop first class or luxury air travel at all levels.
2. Plan your tour and air travel atleast 7 days in advance and travel through appex fare.
3. Stop providing co vehicles/cabs etc. for pick and and drop of employees.
4. Stop free or subsidised food in canteen.
5. Stop issuing office stationery/toliet papers etc.any thing which is free is misused.
6.reduce travel boarding/lodging allowance by 20 to 25%.
7. Reduce local conveyance reimbursement by 20 to 25%.
8.Your desktop and laptops gives sufficient light to work. do not use other lights when working alone. Save electricity/energy as much as u can.
9. Put of Central airconditioning system in winter every one hour for an hour, also define start time and stopage time.Any over time actualy reduces prodictivity.Strick no use of ACs after office hours.
10.Redcue mobile/internet/persoanl phone reimbursements.
11. do not plan offsite,business meets outside your premises.
12. If u have large conference rooms and not usting it all the time,rent them to other needy organisaiton.
